Original German Sheepskin Sleeping Bag AS-IS

Original German military sleeping bag made from sheepskin. There is a blow out along one side near the top, likely from someone too large attempting to use it combined with age. If you ever wanted a sample of a German army sleeping bag, this fits the bill and could yet serve as a good pattern to make a repro. Just like many of the sheepskin coats, the material has fallen apart in a few places. It is generally safe to handle and maneuver but force will extract a toll. It may shed slightly. Several of the cloth ties which would have been used to create a hood are missing. The bag portion of this, minus the hood measures about 5ft tall. The widest part of the bag is only about 21 or 22 inches across, which is pretty snug.

I still have 2 of these in my collection and I feel like it is almost a necessity for any serious equipment collector. People always ask if the Germans had sleeping bags, and here is one of the more common types.
