Original steel stick grenade carrying case in very good condition, with original paint. You can still see some of the stencil under the brown paint and this particular case was used for Nebelhandgranaten smoke grenades. The hinge is solid and nice. The body isn't excessively beat up, warped or dented. It has some surface corrosion and rust but no through holes. The stencils are still somewhat visible (but hard to read). The base color of the can appears to have been a standard German tan color. The brown that is sprayed over that looks like it is brown camouflage paint like the stuff used on vehicles (reddish brown and green over tan). Perhaps the person that camouflaged these didn't understand the concept and just painted them solid brown. Technically a camouflaged paint job, but not a very entertaining one. It is original paint, but there will those that cant wrap their head around that. The overall condition of the box is very good for a stick case. The original choice to camo this solid brown makes it unacceptable to many collectors, as it isn't "standard."
