This is one of the more popular styles of briefcase in Germany and it was fairly common before the war. It seems to have been slowly replaced by more modern bulky designs starting in the mid 1930's and isn't really seen much after the war. It has a center catch flanked but two bicycle tool box style loop closures. It is a simple and elegant design. The closures are marked D.R.P.
It is in OK condition. The bottom has a small tear. The briefcase shows overall general wear and some rust. The loop closures are a bit hard to close. The center clasp is slightly loose as one of the pins is missing
