Vintage 1930s / 1940s red leather zip up makeup compact. The zipper is marked Komet D.R.P. (Deustches Reichspatent). This seems like a very odd and messy way to do a powder compact. There is some staining on the inside where I think there used to be a mirror glued. Interesting piece with no powder inside.
