New reproduction German Umbral sunglasses. Umbral was sort of the Ray-Ban of the Third Reich era in Germany. This style of sunglasses is most closely associated with the Luftwaffe, although I have seen period ads which also promoted them to other branches. These replicate the original sample from my collection as closely as possible. The only two differences of note are the hinges for the frames which are of a more durable modern design and the color of the acetate turned out a little bit lighter and a bit more red than I anticipated. You can see the color difference in the photos comparing the repro to the original. The sunglasses feature a side shade blended into the acetate frames to help block side glare. This side feature is more "striped" whereas the original is a solid color. The arms wrap around the ears but do so a bit more comfortably than the wire frames of the era. Marked D.R.P.ang on the inside arm.
Dimensions (approximate): 5" across and 4 7/8" between the arms, arm length to the hook of the earpiece is 4".
These are designer quality sunglasses custom made to our specifications. They are copied from an original pair and made exclusively for War's End Shop. The actual suggested retail was several hundred dollars and they do feel like expensive sunglasses. You can really treat yourself without spending designer sunglasses money.
NOTE: As mentioned above, these are more RED than they might appear in some photos. The color is a very dark red, not as brown as I had wanted. It is a dark red, but still red none-the-less.
