Vintage 1920s / 1930s German Tinct. Strophanthii (Tincture of Strophanthus) glass apothecary bottle with stopper. The label is actually a form of enamel which is fused onto the glass permanently. This gives the label a very nice dimensionality, like an old enamel sign. Extraordinary quality for a otherwise ordinary medicine bottle, a beautiful combination. Good condition. Tincture of Strophanthus was used as a heart stimulant, now considered toxic.
