Description
Rare WWII US Marine Corps Women's Reserve fatigue hat. This is the first model with a removable button-in cover, made in the style of Navy WAVES daisy mae hats. It was soon replaced by the second model which is all one piece without the buttons since it did not need to have a removable top cover. the daisy mae was replaced altogether in late 1944 by the garrison cap of the same material.
The hat is a size 22 1/2. Named to Alice M. Degler (we also have her HBT garrison cap here). In fairly good condition. A small stain in the cover. Some very light overall fading and signs of general wear.
