Original unused VM40 Volksgasmaske 40 civilian luftschutz gas mask. It is in its cardboard box with the original filter - it even has the protective cover on the "nose" piece. The cardboard box is a little tattered and dirty. The mask has some storage wear / dust, but is in good condition overall. Marked G56 (size 56). Nice waffen amt stamps.
Every German citizen was required by law to own a gas mask and emergency medical supplies in case of air raids and this is one of them. These masks contain asbestos, so they should not be worn.
