W.J.S.39? Göffel Fork Spoon

Nice example of a German army fork spoon. The last digit of the year is worn off but I am fairly confident it is W.J.S.39. This one is in nice used condition. There is also a W initial scratched on the back. It does actually still lock in the open position fairly well, maybe not as tightly as I would like, but still much better than most. I do like using original items like this for reenacting as long as you are good about keeping track of these sorts of things. Its fun to know that it can still do its job and for how these get passed around and borrowed at reenactments, it just feels like you're sharing a meal with the past.

I do have a sneaking suspicion that these will be going up in price in the next few years. similar to how mess kits were $45 for a decade and then went to over $100 overnight. I've already noticed a decreasing supply at shows and a few random exorbitant prices, which is generally an indicator of things to come.
