WWI In Eisener Zeit 1916 watch chain. Gold zur Wehr - Eisen zur Ehr, gold for weapons, iron for honor. Items like this would be used to replace donated items for the war effort, a very patriotic item and quite practical. It does have some rust and general wear. One of the links has been replaced by thread, but it is still holding together, even after all these years.
