Original Zakopane 1944 trench art carved cigarette holder. Zakopane is a Polish winter resort town. The SS occupied Zakopanie and tried to recruit Poles for a highlander division (the Polish highlanders were considered more Aryan than other Poles). This effort did not work (its actually quite an interesting read). Besides recruitment, they also dealt with suppressing resistance efforts. The Gestapo headquarters in Zakopane was in the cellars of the Palace hotel (nicknamed the "Death's Head Resort" by its victims).
The case is in good condition overall. Some discoloration on the ends. Unique construction.
