Desk lamp that also serves as a hand lamp/work light. This might be an early post war production of the war time model lamp, I am not entirely sure, but that seems plausible. The design, dimensions and shape is the same as the war time model, but the bottom is aluminum and the switch hole is flush rather than bulbus. Either way, this is a great looking lamp. This one appears to have been recently rewired, not by me, although I did have to put a new toggle switch in it. It also has an odd gold colored paint inside the shade.
The neck is fixed in place and fitted with a wood textured section which can be more easily hand held. This example has been over painted black, but the wartime ones would have been panzergrau. It seems like the base, which would normally be light sheet metal, was replaced with a cast iron base. I found a few examples of this model over my past few trips and one was still a panzer gray color with a stamp on the bottom from a female RAD unit.
I have included one of my plug adapters and lightbulb which is LED, but reasonably old timey. This is the second model that I have found that can really be directly connected to official use. The first type was quite heavy with a weighty base, easily adjustable neck, and on/off switch. This one retained the on/off switch but was clearly designed to be lightweight and also hand held in addition to being fine just sitting on a desk. The lamp was rewired, I had to replace the switch and whoever refinished it, glued some felt to the bottom.
