Original new old stock Bakelite container for powder, like wound powder, talcum powder, foot powder, etc... This is the last of these containers. We found a roll still wrapped in paper sleeves from the factory. We found these along with many other rolls from a store which closed down during or very shortly after the war. These are not for food stuffs like salt or pepper, the holes are too small and the Bakelite is standard Bakelite, which is not the food safe version used in items like the butter dish or canteen cup. They do have the distinctive Bakelite smell.
