Original 1935 Berchtesgaden wooden lock box with key. This is the sort of thing a tourist might buy. Berchtesgaden at this time was a popular attraction for average tourists and for devout National Socialists hoping to snag a candid glimpse of the Fuhrer and just generally be closer to this new seat of power. While many of the locals did not appreciate the new crowds of people, it did not stop them taking advantage of the increased tourism to sell little mementos. This is a nice medium sized wooden lock box with the original key (most of the time the key has been long lost ago on these type of boxes). The lock plate is a little loose and floppy, but it looks like it was probably always like that as the little mounting tacks don't look like they were ever installed.
