Vintage letter opener in the shape of a Springfield rifle and bayonet. The writing on the handle is almost completely worn off, but it looks like it said Franklin Institute. Founded in 1824, the Franklin Institute is one of the oldest centers of science education and development in the US. Fair condition; there is some corrosion and general wear.
