AH HA! Reproduction AHA bicycle grips made from our new formula of resin which more closely simulates the red brown color of the original. They turned out extremely nice, nearly indistinguishable from a real set.
The price is for 1 pair; 2 grips total. The resin I used on these is quite strong and I believe more durable than the original Bakelite grips, as those tend to shatter even when simply installing them. This material is quite hard with a little bit of flexibility and stretch. These are not indestructible, but they are very good and much cheaper to replace or have on hand as a spare. The silver ring on the bottom is printed and painted silver rather than being a separate metal band. This give the grips a very nice fit on standard European handlebars of the era.
These install in the same way as the originals, simply slip them on and seat them with a few light taps from a rubber mallet. The handlebar tube will actually cut into and seat on a protrusion inside the grips. A nice, inexpensive alternative for a part which will inevitably take a lot of abuse if you frequently use your bicycle.
AHA seems to have been the originator of this particular design of bicycle grip and they seem to have made many custom grips for various firms with their company logo in place of the AHA logo. AHA is an ideal grip for your bicycle as they could be found on nearly any make of bike.
These were drawn from an original example. The color of the resin varies slightly from print to print as I do hand mix the color and I actually like a little variation as the originals also varied quite a bit. The pair you will receive will be matching colors.
